Can anyone guess what is the veggie that shape is as cute as Tanooki!?
Well, it is okra! If you slice it and look at it, you’ll see there will be green star on your hand.
The sticky texture is also unique comparing with other veggie, so okra is Tanooki’s favorite veggie in summer.
I usually eat okra with boiling it and put some soy sauce, but this time I grilled it with a hint of ginger. The spiciness of ginger and savory soy sauce will be your another favorite dish from now on!
- 14 okras
- 1/4 of large onion
- 1 tablespoon of cooking wine
- 2 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of shredded ginger
- 1 clove of garlic
- Some radish

- Prepare okra
Put some holes to okra to avoid explosion during grilling.
- Grill Okra
In a heated large pan with olive oil, put garlic, onion and grill them about 5min, then add okra and cook about another 5 min.
Pour liquid ingredients and put lid on the pan. Cook about another 5 min.
- Set out dish
put some radish for garnish and your dish is ready to serve!
When I went to local grocery store, there was super huge okra. Have you ever seen okra which size is almost same as elephant’s trunk? I wonder if I can use that one for some of my dish.
