Onion Salad with Salted Kelp and Sesame Oil

Hello everyone!

The veg I always stock on my kitchen is onion. I love it both as raw and cooked. While raw onion is spicy, crispy and good as a part of salad, cooked onion is sweet and the soft texture doesn’t disturb the taste of any dish.

I have shared some onion salad recipe, and here is the newest version!

Fresh veg salad become mild and refreshing flavor when they are mixed with sesame oil and salted kelp, so as same as other onion salad, this will be the best side dish for rich and juicy dish.

Onion has the great power to make your blood vessel healthy, so why don’t you just try it? 🙂

Banana Coffee Cake

The grocery store in my neighbor was holding closing event, so the whole store was on big sale. I’m more like tea person so I don’t drink coffee that much, say, like a cup in once a month, but when I found instant coffee on such a big sale, it joined my shopping basket. While it is true that I don’t drink coffee that much, I love coffee smell. The smoky bitter aroma is such a dreaming smell, so I was going to smell it and let my dinner buddy drink it for me.

When I bring it back to home and turned around, my mind caught what my eyes were avoiding.

A bunch of overripe banana.

I knew I needed to eat it as soon as possible, but my mind was saying “banana…again? For sure? Maybe it can wait till tomorrow…” and here they were, the number of overripe banana increased but never decreased.

While I really concern with food waste, but that day, my mind was full of energy so it worked super efficiently, just put them together!

A little bitter but sweet banana cake gave nice relaxing afternoon, so if your eyes caught the same picture of overripe banana, let’s cook it!

Coconut Milk Soup

If I and my friends decided to hit Thai restaurant and order some soup, we used to go for tom yum kung. The hot and sour soup always grabbed our attention and we always knew we made the right decision. Meanwhile, I knew there was another soup list of tom ka gai, chicken coconut soup. At that time, I thought it sounded weird because coconut milk was for some Thai curry or more like for dessert.

And, as usual for now, I knew I was wrong.

I tried making it at home because if I didn’t like it, it would be waste and this is what I don’t like to do in any occasion. Also, there is a benefit of choosing what I like to add, learning how to cook new recipe;)

And here it is! It supposed to have some chicken, but as I’m trying to be a vegan (please don’t mention about fish sauce..I don’t know what I can substitute with something vegan yet;P), I used veg soup stock instead and omit chicken from ingredients.

If you have coconut milk waiting to transform nice delicious food, try this! 😀

Miso Mayo Soba Salad

I have several recipe for soba, and here is another/new one for you to try!

When I start running this blog, I ate soba with the usual soup/soba and I’d never chosen other way to eat soba, which is made with some cooking wine, soy sauce, and bonito stock. But today, explore the new and best way to enjoy cooking and meal, and found this one.

Sauce is richer than my usual soup because it is using mayo and miso. Richer but still nice savory flavor, and it’s quick to cook!

As outside is getting hotter and hotter, I think this will be your the usual menu in this summer!
